Parent Teacher Association

The PSA, a registered charity, is a very active organisation via its committee members, who organise social and fund-raising events throughout the year as well as help with school events such as the Older Adults’ Christmas Party, the Evenings to Celebrate Achievement, the annual Art Exhibition and selling school uniform etc.

Each September, at the Annual General Meeting, parents of new and existing students are invited to learn about what the PSA does. Some will volunteer to serve as committee members to replace members who automatically retire when their children complete Year 11 . Anybody is welcome to join the committee as it is surprising how many different skills can be utilised.

Fund-raising events include: Prom Evening & Fashion Show, Christmas & Spring Craft Fairs, Christmas Hamper & Selection Box Raffles, Easter Egg Raffle. Events are publicised via Newsletters sent to all parents. The PSA runs a 100 Club with monthly cash prizes which parents are invited to join – half the proceeds go towards PSA funds.

Each year the PSA contributes up to £5,000 towards goods which cannot be funded through the school budget. Recent purchases include benches and seats around the school grounds and folding tables. Also the PSA provides funding for school musical productions and the school gardens. The PSA underwrites the cost of producing the annual School Calendar.
