Ofsted

We are delighted to be able to share the Ofsted report from their visit to the school on the 21st and 22nd September with you. We are proud to inform you that we have been judged under the new inspection framework as a ‘Good’ school and ‘Good’ in all areas. This is thoroughly well deserved, and sincere thanks goes to all students, staff, parents, carers, Governors and Directors for supporting the school in achieving this pleasing outcome.

The report contains significant positive information about our school, along with some areas, that we were already working on for development.
The first line of the report reads “Pupils feel safe and happy at Hurworth School” and within the first paragraph of the report the inspectors acknowledge that ‘staff know pupils well,’ and ‘Strong relationships between staff and pupils are evident across the school’. This reinforces our mission at Hurworth to ensure that all of our students are supported to be the best versions of themselves and to achieve academic success which enables them to move onto their chosen pathways. We are pleased that Ofsted saw this and commented; ‘The school’s leaders are praised for being “passionate about providing an education that prepares pupils well for life”.’

I would like to thank all parents/carers for their support, the staff for the amazing job they do day in day out and the pupils for being superb individuals, they all combine to make a fantastic community and a Good school.
